Emitrophies Sdn Bhd Established in Malaysia on 6th April 1989, Emitrophies Sdn Bhd is one of the largest trophy manufacturers in the region, specializing in the production and supply of trophies, medals, plaques, glass awards, acrylic trophies, and other recognition products for corporate, sports, and academic events. Together with Emitrophies (S) Pte Ltd in Singapore and Emitrophies (Tianjin) Co., Ltd in China, the companies operate under the Electro Mechanical Industries (EMI) Group. With a heritage of over 60 years since the establishment of Electro Mechanical Industries Pte Ltd in 1966, the group has grown into a well-established international manufacturer and supplier of awards and recognition products. Backed by strong manufacturing capabilities and global distribution, the EMI Group is widely recognized worldwide for its manufacturing quality, extensive product range, and reliable service, supplying trophies and awards to customers across the USA, Europe, Australia, South America, and Asia.
The Story of EMI Group
Founded in 1966, EMI Group began its journey during a defining era in Singapore’s history—a time marked by resilience, transformation, and the pursuit of progress.
The company was established by Mr Tay Bak Chua, a visionary entrepreneur whose dedication and work ethic laid the foundation for what EMI Group stands for today. Starting from humble beginnings, Mr Tay believed strongly in craftsmanship, integrity, and building long-lasting relationships—values that continue to guide the company decades later.
A significant moment in EMI Group’s early history is captured in this photograph, where Mr Tay Bak Chua (right) is seen shaking hands with Lee Kuan Yew (left), the founding Prime Minister of Singapore. This meeting symbolizes more than just a handshake—it represents a shared era of ambition, nation-building, and the drive to create opportunities in a young and rapidly developing Singapore.
